The role
We are seeking to recruit enthusiastic, motivated, and experienced Social Workers to join Warrington Borough Council’s Specialist Teams Service with vacancies in the Preparation for Adulthood Team (x2 G7/G8) .
As a social worker you will play a fundamental role in this mission and will support some of the most vulnerable young people in our town. You will support clients using a range of legislative frameworks, including the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and the Mental Health Act 1983 to co-produce person-centered assessments and creative support plans to achieve holistic outcome for our clients. You’ll also lead safeguarding responses to protect adults at risk of abuse and neglect. We are looking for people with a can-do attitude and strong social work values. The Specialist Team Service is made up of five teams: The Learning Disability Team, Mental Health Teams 1 & 2, The Sensory, Physical & Neurological Team, and the Preparation for Adulthood (PFA) Team. As a service, we primarily work with adults aged 18-65 years, or 16-25 within the PFA team. We support people with a diverse range of complex needs including physical disabilities, mental health issues, learning disability, acquired brain injury, and autistic spectrum conditions.
You will be supported by a Team Manager and Senior Practitioner and work alongside other social workers, community care workers, apprentice social workers and admin support.
We provide our staff with the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge through training and professional development with Court of Protection, S42 Adult Safeguarding Enquiries, Continuing Health Care, and Mental Capacity Assessments & Best Interest Decisions. Grade 8 Experienced Social workers have the opportunity for career progression and can go on to undertake training to become an Approved Mental Health Professional role (AMHP) Practice Educator (PE) and Best Interest Assessor (BIA) roles. Following successful completion of your probationary period you will have the opportunity to join the Out of Hours service for which you would be paid an additional payment on top of your salary.

Key Dates & Further Information
The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
