Warrington Best Start Family Hubs provide a welcoming, inclusive space for families across the borough, supporting children from conception to age of 5 and continuing support up to age 19 or 25 for young people with SEND. Best Start Family Hubs are a one stop shop, supporting families with parenting, health and wellbeing, play and community-based support to help children and families thrive; bringing together health, education, social care, voluntary and community services to offer coordinated, accessible support to all families.

The role

We are recruiting for Family Hub Practitioners to add to our dynamic team and help bring our vision to life. 

This is a part-time position 18.5 hours per week. 

As a Family Hub Practitioner, you will:

• Plan, deliver and evaluate a year-round programme of play and learning sessions for children and their parents/carers, including for children with special educational needs and disabilities.
• Provide tailored 1:1 support to families in the home to build parents’ knowledge and confidence.
• Engage and build positive relationships with parents, carers and children, ensuring families can access the support they need, when they need it.
• Work as part of a locality team, developing effective relationships with colleagues in children’s services, health, education and community partners to coordinate service delivery, helping to deliver the Best Start Local Plan.
• Use and maintain information management systems to record work and monitor progress accurately.

What's needed?

Knowledge of early child development, special educational needs and disabilities, safeguarding thresholds and procedures, health and safety, and the Best Start In Life agenda.

Experience of organising and leading activities for children, young people and families, including planning for children with disabilities.

The ability to work as part of a multi-agency team and build positive relationships with families and partners.

Effective communication, organisational skills and the ability to engage with a diverse range of children, young people and families.

Key Dates & Further Information

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.

DBS clearance is required.
