The role

Warrington Borough Council is seeking a skilled Public Health Analyst to join the Public Health Team at an exciting and formative time. The successful candidate will bring their experience and expert knowledge to make a difference to health and wellbeing in Warrington by supporting a range of projects from in-depth needs assessments covering the full breadth of public health to routine monitoring and reporting.

The ideal candidate should be educated to degree level, or have an equivalent qualification or experience, demonstrating that level of applied knowledge in researching, analysing and evaluating health and socio-economic information. They must be skilled in interrogating large datasets, using appropriate statistical techniques to produce meaningful intelligence. They should be able to present their findings in a user-friendly manner and be highly computer literate, particularly with spreadsheets and databases using excellent analytical and research skills, and the ability to draft reports and briefings. Prior experience of using GIS, for example Mapinfo, and Power BI would be advantageous.

We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, a good collaborator, and has excellent attention to detail. The successful individual should have experience of working in a multi-agency environment with a range of partners and must be able to evidence a sound understanding of data protection and information governance.

The post sits within the Public Health Knowledge & Intelligence Team (K&I) and reports to the K&I Senior Public Health Specialist. The successful applicant will work with key partners including colleagues across the Public Health Team and in other Council departments, the Integrated Care Board (ICB), Cheshire and Merseyside Public Health Collaborative (CHaMPS), and other local public health teams.

Working hours

This is a full-time position. 37 hours/week.
