The role
Variable Hours contract Based at Warrington Register Office, 1 Time Square, and approved venues across Warrington.
Salary £13.90 - £15.31 per hour plus additional 15.04% (under 5 years service) or 17.65% (over 5 years service) holiday pay on top of hour rate

Warrington Registration Service is looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Sessional Registrar to join our ceremonies team. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in delivering memorable marriage, civil partnership and celebratory ceremonies across the borough.
You will conduct and register marriages and civil partnerships and act as a celebrant for other ceremonies, including naming ceremonies, renewal of vows ceremonies and citizenship ceremonies. Ceremonies may take place at Warrington Register Office, approved venues, places of worship and, on occasion, hospitals, hospices or private residences.
Working as part of a dedicated team, you will:
- Deliver engaging and professional ceremonies tailored to individual couples and families.
- Prepare for ceremonies by reviewing legal documentation and ceremony scripts.
- Conduct pre-ceremony interviews and provide guidance on legal requirements.
- Complete and handle legal records accurately and securely.
- Support customers with sensitivity, professionalism and excellent customer service.
- Respond calmly and effectively to last-minute changes or unexpected situations.
- Work flexibly, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays, to meet service demand.

- Previous experience in public-facing roles, ceremonies, hospitality, customer service, events or registration services would be advantageous, although full training will be provided.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
